- The Oldies radio station - 50-70s, everything Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach Boys... this was invariably the car soundtrack of my entire childhood.
- Michael Jackson - I think I was given Beat It with my first personal cassette player, and played it to death. This must've been seventh or eighth grade.
- John Denver - The Higher Ground album (1988) was my soundtrack for at least a year.
- Filk - In high school I found Mercedes Lackey, shortly followed by the Firebird Arts and Music catalog, and I bought just about everything they published. Leslie Fish, Cecilia Eng, Heather Alexander.... And from there branched out into all things filk, Tom Smith, Weird Al, Tom Lehrer, Juanita Coulson, Julia Ecklar, Kathy Mar.
